Walking Down the Aisle is the fourth episode of the Netflix Original series Aggretsuko.

Netflix Synopsis

"When plans to leave her thankless job fall through, Retsuko continues to work in hopes of some day marrying and becoming a full-time housewife."

Summary

At a wedding of a friend, Retsuko and another friend were looking at a picture of the bride and the groom and weren't able to believe they were getting married. Retsuko went to give her wedding gift which was expected to be 30,000 yen, but since she had worked really hard to them, she wasn't letting go of the money and wanted to rage telling the woman to let go of her money.

At work, Retsuko was complaining that 30k yet was a lot and she will struggle this month with money. Fenneko says that given their age 20k should be enough, but Kabae tells them it must be 30k according to traditions otherwise the couple will get divorced. Director Ton then calls Retsuko giving her work and because of the last conversation with him, she follows all orders from him and Tsubone like a robot.

During lunch break, Retsuko returns to normal, but can't tell her friends why she follows the orders. She leaves them and goes into the archive room, so that they don't see her eating bread crusts with mayo. Retsuko then receives a call from the friend who was with her at the wedding. Speaking fast, annoyed and crying, she explains that the couple had divorced as they got into a fight at the airport and they had lost their 30k for nothing. Retsuko then thinks of her own wedding and how she will invite those that divorced, so she gets 60,000 yen from them. She then starts dreaming of being full-time house wife. After finishing lunch, he met Haida and asks him if he wants his wife to work or stay home. As he explains his salary isn't big, so it would be better if she works, Retsuko leaves before he finishes and decides her husband needs to have good salary. After speaking with Tsunoda, Retsuko feels insecure about her weight and decides to go to yoga after work. In from of the yoga place, she decides otherwise, but the yoga instructor sees her and drags her in. She goes there the next evening and sees Gori and Washimi there too. Gori and Retsuko try to talk to each other, but it results in awkward situation, so Washimi takes the lead and introduces them as they see each other often in the firm, but don't know each other. On her way home, Retsuko receives a call from her friend, informing her that those two are back together again, so their money have a worth after all.
