United Front is the fifth episode in Season 2 of the Netflix series Aggretsuko.
Netflix Synopsis[]
"Everybody hates Retsuko's badly-prepared yakisoba. Anai doesn't lift a finger to help, until Kabae gives him some words of encouragement."
Summary[]
Not getting along with Anai, Retsuko and Fenneko try to use Tsunoda in order she to give him some work. Anai ends up declining and crushing Tsunoda, stating she is overworking him. Fenneko decides they to use their final weapon, Ton, who goes and speaks with Anai if he got used to the job and if he don't mind then treating him like the rest and not as guest. Moments later Ton receives messages from Anai, also awaiting his written reply, which makes Ton cry on how to handle this. In the mean time, Kabae notices Anai's lunch and is amazed he prepared him himself and decides to eat with him. After lunch she asks him questions and teaches him about accounting and congratulates him when he gets it right.
On the Family Appreciation Day, Anai is just standing next to the yakisoba stand they set up doing nothing. Retsuko handles all by herself and her mother is her first customer, but as she tries the yakisoba, she spits it out commenting how disgusting it was. Ton family then comes and his girls try the yakisoba, but they too find it awful. Haida wonders why no longer anyone stops at the yakisoba stand and Ookami reveals that Ton's daughters had spread a rumor about how bad the Accounting's yakisoba is.
Kabae's sons then come and want some yakisoba, but Retsuko tells them she can't serve them as their yakisoba is bad. Kabae then wonders why they don't ask Anai for help and tells him this is a song only he can sing. Anai then starts singing and making yakisoba. Kabae's family loves it, and as Retsuko tries it too, she tells Haida to go and give some to Ton's daughters. Retsuko tells Anai to keep cooking as only he can make it that good. The rumors of the delicious yakisoba spread, and everyone wants to try it. They sold all the yakisoba at the end of the day, and Retsuko thanks Anai for his work.
On the next day, Retsuko complains she is tired and needed to give them a day off. Ton then gives her even more work, but Anai comes and takes half of it, saying he will help her.
