Struggle for Survival is the sixth episode in Season 4 of the Netflix series Aggretsuko.

"Ton resigns without telling his family. Yagyu nags Kabae after she leaves early to care for her son. Retsuko and her friends worry about more changes."
Summary[]
Ton doesn't get on the train and ends up spending the entire day at a bench in the part. As it gets dark, he heads home.
Bibanuma brought some Sapporo custard pies and shares them in the office. Haida and Retsuko get excited and take one. They tell Kabae about them, but she isn't excited and states she will take one later. A bit later, Anai tells them that Kabae was encouraged to resign, but he told her to refuse, however Kabae is worried they will ask someone else if she refuses. Haida guesses they chose her as her husband is a doctor and it will be easier for her to leave. Fenneko and the rest realize they are layoffs coming.
In the coming days, more people were encouraged to resign and people started to worry they will be next. Haida commented that if all refuse, they will move to next phase where they will evaluate people if they are indispensable or not. HR informs Himuro that he gave verbal warning to Ton due to his increased absences, and Ton accepted and resigned. Ton haven't told his wife yet and before leaving for "work", she shares her worries about the layoffs as she heard it on the news. Ton assures her everything is fine and she gives him lunch before leaving.
While speaking with Buffalo, Kabae receives a call informing her that her son has a fever. She wants to leave to take him to hospital, however, Buffalo wants her to continue working. Retsuko, Haida and Anai then volunteer to do her work, so that she can go. Kabae goes to her son Kabasuke, but sees he is fine and the caretaker informs her his fever dropped while they were waiting her. Retsuko and Haida wonder what is Ton doing and comment that he was better when handing stuff like this. Meanwhile, Ton goes to look for MyPad Pro, but is shocked by its high price. He wonders if its his daughter would be fine with a cheaper one, but the clerk tells him that they will likely stop talking to him for about a year.
The next day, Kabasuke has fever and Kabae takes him to hospital and misses work. Buffalo wonders when she will come, but Kabae wants to take the day off as her son's fever isn't dropping. Buffalo uses the chance to asks her to reconsider about the resignation. Retsuko jumps it and takes the phone from Buffalo, telling Kabae its all fine and they will cover her. After thinking about it and asking her son if he would like she to be the whole day with him, Kabae decides to resign the next day. Anai is pissed, but Haida tells him they can't do anything about it.
Himuro visit the accounting department, wanting to do work environment inspection. Haida finishes his work and hands it to Buffalo, however, Buffalo thinks he did it took quickly and doesn't want mediocre job done. Haida tries to explain he haven't done bad job, but Buffalo doesn't listen. Himuro then states that this kind of working is unimpressive, causing Haida and his friends to worry.
