Shirota (城田) is a supporting character introduced in Season 2 of the Original Netflix series Aggretsuko.
He briefly dates Retsuko when her mother tries forcing her into an arranged marriage.

Shirota's look is based on a Polar Bear. He is on the larger side, has pink eyelids, and has a soft, kind smile. He has a small tuft of hair on the front of his head and thick, black eyebrows.
His first appearance was shown in the form of a portrait that Retsuko's mother shows her when trying to force her to go on a date. The photo makes Shirota's face appear more chiseled and defined. He sees this photo later and laughs, admitting that Restuko's mother must have airbrushed it to make him appear more handsome.

Not much is known about Shirota's personality, but he is shy but kind towards Restsuko during their arranged date. He has trouble making conversation but eventually relaxes and shows a gentle sense of humor.
He reveals that he believes it's scary to become an adult and take on adult responsibilities such as marriage.

Shirota and Retsuko met after an arranged marriage proposal by their mothers. Initially quite shy, they quickly end up comfortable with each other and have good conversation. Both end up revealing they feel scared getting married at their age, due to being a huge responsibility, with Retsuko later declining the marriage.

Shirota's mother cares for her son and as he becomes an adult, she tries to help him find a wife. Initially scared, Shirota agreed to meet with girls and after Retsuko, his mother introduced him to a girl, who ended up good match for him.

- His name means "castle" (城) and "rice field" (田).
- However, "Shirota" can be written as 白田; 白 (white) is used in the word 白熊, which means "polar bear".
