Options is the fifth episode in Season 4 of the Netflix series Aggretsuko.

"Ton despairs about his demotion while Yagyu becomes the new director. Haida gains a confidence boost after Retsuko reaches out to him."
Summary[]
Ton spends entire day at his new office, but as there is nothing to do, he is bored and tries various things to keeps himself busy. He eventually tries to read the sign at his office door, but bites his tongue and rages.
Since Ton had left the accounting, the accounting had become peaceful and the new director is Buffalo. Retsuko and Haida have returned to being a friendly coworkers. Retsuko believes that being too close with Haida, ended up hurting them and this is for the better. Tsunoda wonders if that's the case and knocks out Retsuko. She ties her up and brings her to a room with Fenneko, telling Retsuko that they are the love police. Tsunoda reveals they have been following Retsuko for a month and asks her if she has feelings for Haida. Fenneko doesn't think so, since Retsuko got mad when she heard what Haida said, but Tsunoda states that's actually proof she likes him and that they need to fix Haida's confidence.
Tsubone visits Ton at his office. She sees some old pictures and Ton reveals he is compiling a company history. He tells her to not worry about him, as he is getting paid to kill his time whatever he likes. Tsunoda brings Ookami, thinking that they need a guy's help to help them with Haida. Fenneko thinks of Ookami as an airhead and that he won't be useful. Ookami suggests Haida lifts weights, but as they dislike the idea, Ookami wonders who does Haida like and Tsunoda reveals its Retsuko. Ookami is surprised, but states that makes this easy, as Retsuko just needs to tell Haida that she likes him, which will give him confidence. Ookami wonders if Retsuko likes him, but Retsuko isn't really sure. Gori then shows up and joins the conversation, stating that when she was younger, she was falling in love so easy, but as she got older, that doesn't happen that often. As Retsuko can't say she likes him, he must be getting older too. While Retsuko tries to say she likes Haida, Ookami states that if he waited to do something until he is sure, he wouldn't have done anything.
That evening, Retsuko goes to Haida's place. She tells him she can't yet say she likes him, but she wants to know him better. Retsuko then quickly runs back home. Moments later, Haida comes. The two then start going out and have fun together. At work, Haida feels extra motivated and volunteers every time someone needs help. Anai is chatting with his girlfriend, when he gets approached by Haida. Haida asks him if he had considered marriage and if he is more motivated to work when there is someone to protect. Anai tells him this is personal and Haida agrees, telling him to treasure his time being in love.
Buffalo takes Kabae to human resources. The HR asks her to request voluntary resignation. He tells her she doesn't need to answer now and will receive compensations.
Himuro guesses the tea Washimi made, but says its not fair as the game was him to guess black tea, while this isn't black. She tells him this tea and black tea are made from the same leaves and he isn't fair either. Himuro realizes she talks about Ton and explains that its hard to terminate an employee, but reassignments are easy, and feeling expendable can make it oddly difficult to stay with a company.
Ton watches TV, hearing how the depression rate is increasing, especially in people in their 40s and 50s. While waiting for the train, he gets scared as its approaching and later doesn't board it.
