A soft-spoken and loving mother. However, she is shackled by the chains of her marriage and therefore a patriarchal husband, and can only be a pushover.

Juzo is her husband. He treats her unfairly, but she cannot defy him due to his imposed patriarchy.

"Haida" is her first son. She is the only member in her family to demonstrate any genuine care for Haida, but due to the constraints of her husband's dominance, she is unable to do anything to help him.
