Aggretsuko Wiki

Dokachin (ドカチン) is a Net café refugee appearing in Season 5 of the Netflix Original series Aggretsuko.

He is a resident at the Anagura Net café alongside "Haida" and Shikabane. He works paycheque to paycheque as a Labourer and helps Haida find his first few small jobs with him on construction sites.

Character[]

Appearance[]

Dokachin's appearance is based on dog; his fur is brown on a lighter shade around his body, but concentrates on a darker brown around his snout. He has thick eyebrows and slanted dark eyes.

He wears a black hoodie and gray sport pants while residing within the Net café, but switches to some beige baggy cargo pants, dark tennis shoes and a fanny pack across his torso as his work gear. He sports a pair of dark glasses at all times.

Personality[]

Dokachin is amiable, willing to trust those who are friends of his friends. He's quick to give Haida a job at the construction site he works at, first making sure that he's willing to do heavy lifting. A gentle giant who's almost constantly frowning, but always dawning a smile on his face.

He's aware of his situation as he's quick to point out to Haida he should find a job as soon as possible, no matter how small, as he could get stuck at the Net café. Although he's willing to help others, he also doesn't want people worrying about him and his relationships seem weak, as he never tried connecting with Shikabane or Haida beyond work.

He disappears soon after Haida moves in with Retsuko, only to be heard of again after he injures his hip while working. Shikabane theorizes that he's suffering from a gambling addiction that eventually ate away at his finances and hiding it from others by claiming that he was paying his ex-wife child support.

He's seen standing straight while watching Retsuko's singing, meaning his hip has healed or, at least, alleviated enough for him to move around. Retsuko's speech at the end implies that he is still homeless, as he is one those voters that couldn't vote as he had no formal address on his ballet.

Relationships[]

Haida[]

He meets Haida through Shikabane and is willing to give him a job to keep buying nightly booths in the café, although he warns it's as long he's good with heavy lifting. While seeing Haida struggle at work, he cheers him on.

He's very welcoming and amiable towards Haida, arguably protective as he doesn't want him to end up like him - stuck being homeless - by encouraging to never come back to the café and to work hard from now on.

Shikabane[]

Dokachin considers Shikabane a friend, and is willing to help any of her friends find work, but they never kept in contact beyond meeting in the Net café.
